There are a couple of Yahoo groups I would like to join, but I can't seem to set up an account. I linked my Google account to my Yahoo account, but this didn't work either. When I got to the point where it asked me to create a profile with an alias for what name I wanted to use in the group, I typed one in, but it took me directly back to that page as if I hadn't created one at all. So then I decided I would just create a Yahoo account, if that would make it easier.
Well, I thought, I've created lots of accounts before, how hard can it be? I filled in all the required information, did the audio captcha, and pressed the create account button. But no matter how many times I did the captcha, and I'm positive I entered all the correct numbers, it didn't work.
I then decided I would use Firefox and Web Vissum if the captcha really was the problem, because that's the only thing I can think of that would have been entered incorrectly I checked the availability of my Yahoo ID and it said it was available, so I know that wasn't it. But when I used Firefox, the field to put the captcha in didn't even show up. I'm using Jaws 13, Firefox 9, and IE 8. So if anyone can help me, either with successfully linking my google account to Yahoo or creating a Yahoo account, I would really appreciate it.
Are your images turned on in Firefox? If you simply want to receive mail from the list, do you even need to use a yahoo id? Can you not simply send an email to listname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, where listname is the list you wish to join?
Should be easy to setup, but if not call customer service and they'll be happy to do it for you.
